Our Child Care Services (CCS) program, supported by the Texas Workforce Commission, assists families, child care providers, and communities across our nine-county region — helping parents move toward self-sufficiency while raising the quality of early childhood education.

Enhancing Child Care Quality
Our CCS program works to improve the quality and availability of child care across the Middle Rio Grande region. Through the Texas Rising Star quality rating and improvement system, providers are supported in meeting standards above basic licensing. We also encourage Pre-K partnerships between public schools and child care providers, and connect parents with Texas Child Care Connection, the state's online portal for choosing quality care and finding financial assistance.
Support for Families
We help families afford quality care while they work, search for employment, or attend school or training. Eligible families who meet income guidelines can receive child care scholarships that cover care costs, and we connect you with licensed, registered, and vetted providers — including options for infants, toddlers, and children with special needs. Our team is your source of information for child care choices across all nine counties.
Support for Providers
We help child care providers raise quality and grow their capacity to serve children. Providers can access professional development and training, resources to expand infant and toddler care and serve children with special needs, and quality incentives — including equipment, curriculum, and recognition through Texas Rising Star.
